MAMEA Dinner @ NSTA Regional in Richmond, VA
The end of summer has unfortunately come to an end and we have had a BUSY summer hosting the National Marine Educators Association National Conference in Annapolis, MD.
Our region has another unique opportunity in the form of the NSTA Regional Conference in Richmond, VA October 16-18. With the timing of this conference and having just hosted the NMEA conference, we are not having a weekend MAMEA conference this year and instead encouraging members to participate in the NSTA Area conference. The MAMEA board meeting will be Saturday afternoon at the completion of the NSTA Conference. This will be followed by a dinner in the area. All MAMEA members are invited to attend both.
The NSTA Regional conference will have over 400 sessions in areas of K-12 STEM education and ways to build partnerships between informal and formal educators, an incredible exhibit hall, and NSTA is collaborating with the International Reading Association for an all-day unique event celebrating Science and Literacy on Saturday. Strands include Watershed Science: Learning Inside and Out, Partnerships and Collaboration: Inside and Out, Integrating Science with Other Disciplines: Inside and Out and NSTA has also partnered with the Virginia Office of Environmental Education (VOEE) and the Virginia Resource-Use Education Council (VRUEC) to bring you a special Environmental Education strand called 'Get Your Nature On.'
