ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Plans are underway for the MAMEA 2008 Annual Conference!
We don't have all of our plans finalized just yet, but here are some basics for your advance planning.

Where: Virginia Beach
When:
weekend of October 24-26, 2008
What:
Emphasis on Chesapeake Bay resources & science

Friday, Oct. 24 : Field trips, board meeting, members' check-in, and evening social
Saturday, Oct. 25 : Speakers, concurrent sessions, and evening banquet & auction
Sunday, Oct. 26 : Field trips and depart

Costs: Registration cost to be determined, we're aiming to keep it under $100. Accommodations: We are looking at lodging costs of $119/night (plus tax) in the main conference hotel. Most rooms are suites with two beds, so to keep your costs down you can share with another conference attendee. Or, there are quite a number of hotels in the area and you may be able to find something even more economical.

What else? Virginia Beach is a family-friendly destination, with lots to see and do! You may want to consider bringing your family and/or extending your stay. We are hoping to have some childcare arrangements during Saturday's conference sessions.
